Renowned Art Dealer Ben Heller Brings Litchfield County Property to Market with William Pitt Sothebys International Realty

Friday, June 12th, 2015

Sharon, Conn. (PRWEB) June 01, 2015

William Pitt Sothebys International Realty today announced that the Litchfield County, Conn., property of respected New York art dealer, adviser and collector Ben Heller is now for sale. Kent agent Ira Goldspiel has the Sharon, Conn. listing, which is offered at $ 9,450,000.

The New York City-based art patron and dealer has a reputation for being an early supporter of several major artists, including Jackson Pollock and Mark Rothko, both of whom were close friends with Heller at the beginning of their careers. He also owns or has owned many of the most famous works created by these artists.

The property encompasses 294 acres of land that stands adjacent to thousands of additional acres of parkland. The acreage, which provides a backdrop of far-reaching pastoral views for the main residence, is dotted with specimen plantings and features a 42-acre pond.

The 6,154 square-foot, post-and-beam home, originally built in 1988, underwent a complete renovation in 2014. Positioned high on a hill to take full advantage of the 360-degree views of the surrounding acreage, the residence represents a modern take on the Colonial style, including a metal roof and cedar shakes along with clean, oversized windows. Standout living spaces include an all-season sunroom with stone floors and glass walls looking out to the views, a cooks kitchen, and a spacious master suite with fireplace, oversized his and hers dressing rooms, and private deck with more views. The home has five bedrooms and five full and two half baths in total. The grounds provide a heated gunite pool and pool house.

This private, tranquil setting feels like a world unto itself, offering the most incredible views taking in green hills, distant mountains and gorgeous waterscapes, said Goldspiel. Add to that a prominent ownership history, with these walls having served as home to one of the great legends of the art world, and this offering is one of the rarest and most important now on the market in Litchfield County.

We are thrilled that Irene Wurden and her team of brokers accepted our invitation to expand our Brand, said Dean Jones, Owner of Realogics Sothebys International Realty. Likewise, Bainbridge Island witnessed median home price increases (excluding condominiums) of 6 percent last year with total transactions rising 50 percent above 2011 sales volumes. By contrast median home prices for the mainland Kitsap County (not including Bainbridge Island) remained flat during 2012 but more recently signs point to a sustained recovery in the region, says Jones. He notes that residential sales volumes for all of Kitsap County rose by 45 percent in January 2013 and median home prices were up 33 percent year-over-year, respectively.

The trending is certainly positive and we plan to play a leading role in further market expansion, said Irene Wurden, Principal of The Wurden Team at Realogics Sothebys International Realty. Its time for Kitsap County to be recognized both regionally and internationally for its natural splendor and a prized Northwest lifestyle that we enjoy here at home, adds Wurden. William Pitt Sothebys International Realty Announces Exclusive Listing of Thimble Island Property

Tuesday, September 25th, 2012

Branford, CT (PRWEB) September 22, 2012

Jepson Island, a private island that resides among the Long Island Sound archipelago known as the Thimble Islands, is the exclusive listing of William Pitt Sothebys International Realty, Inc., executives of the real estate brokerage company announced today.

William Pitt Sothebys International Realty said that the island is one of the few that is habitable among the hundreds of Thimble Islands. Offered at $ 1,995,000, the property has .28 acre of private land and includes a contemporary vacation home, built in 1980 and constructed with natural materials. The 1,018 square-foot, six-room residence offers two bedrooms and one bath in addition to wood floors, vaulted ceilings, skylights, Thermopane windows, a balcony and a deck. Walls of glass showcase vistas of the island and Long Island Sound.

Outside, stone steps lead down to the waterfront, which features a beach, boat dock and mooring. The lot surrounding the home is ideal for outdoor living with open, professionally landscaped grounds and gardens.

This exceptional property is the ultimate getaway. With so few of the Thimble Islands being habitable, it is incredibly rare for an island property like this one to come on the market here in Southern Connecticut, said William Pitt Sothebys International Realty listing agent Margaret Muir, who shares the listing with Tony Nuzzo.

Private, secluded and complete with its own charming vacation home, this island is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy waterfront living off the coast of Connecticut. The property is close to the mainland yet feels a world apart, said Nuzzo.

The Thimble Islands have served as both residences and destinations for celebrities and historic figures alike. The islands are part of the Stony Creek-Thimble Islands Historic District, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
