Haynes and Boone Reveals 2013 Class of Partners

Haynes and Boone, LLP proudly announces that one of counsel and seven associates have been elevated as the 2013 class of new firm partners.

The eight lawyers are Brack Bryant, Emma Cano, Keenan L. Kolendo, Michael J. McCarthy, Julie M. Nickols, Jonathan D. Pressment, Micah E. Skidmore and Leslie Thorne.

ASSOCIATES ELECTED PARTNERS

Brack Bryant is a member of the firms Real Estate Practice Group in Dallas. He represents office, industrial and retail clients in connection with a wide variety of real estate matters, including the acquisition, development, sale, financing and leasing of various asset types. Bryant received his bachelors degree from Texas A&M University and juris doctorate from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law.

Emma Cano is a member of the firms Business Litigation/Trial Practice Group in San Antonio and focuses on complex commercial litigation with experience litigating matters in both federal and state courts. Her cases cover a range of commercial issues, including fraud, partnership disputes, franchise-related controversies, contract and construction disputes, bond claims, insurance coverage disputes and other litigation matters. Cano received her bachelors from the University of Texas at Austin and juris doctorate from Texas Tech University School of Law.

Keenan L. Kolendo is a member of the firms Real Estate Practice Group in Dallas. He has experience in assisting clients with commercial real estate transactions, including acquisition, development, leasing and disposition of retail, office and industrial projects. Kolendo received his bachelors from Southern Methodist University and juris doctorate from the University of Texas.

Michael J. McCarthy is a member of the firms Real Estate Practice Group in New York. His practice focuses on the representation of commercial lenders and borrowers in connection with mortgage and mezzanine financing secured by commercial real estate involving office, retail, residential and hotel projects; clients in connection with the acquisition and disposition of real property, participation interests, whole loans and B-notes; and clients in connection with loan workouts, restructurings and foreclosures. In addition, McCarthy has represented lenders and borrowers in connection with real estate capital markets transactions, including repurchase facilities. McCarthy received his bachelors from Emory University and juris doctorate from St. Johns University School of Law.

Julie M. Nickols is a member of the Intellectual Property Practice Group in the firms Richardson, Texas office. Nickols concentrates her practice in the area of intellectual property law, including the preparation, prosecution, and enforcement of domestic and international patent portfolios. Her practice also includes post-issuance proceedings at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. She received her bachelors in engineering from the University of Illinois and juris doctorate from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law.

Micah Skidmore is a member of the firms Insurance Coverage Litigation Practice Group in Dallas. He represents policyholders in significant insurance coverage disputes involving a variety of claims from commercial general liability, directors and officers liability, employment practices liability, and errors and omissions liability to first-party property claims, trade credit, and crime and fidelity claims. Skidmore received his bachelors and juris doctorate from Brigham Young University.

Leslie Thorne is a member of the Business Litigation, Real Estate and Construction Litigation and Insurance Coverage Litigation practices in the firms Austin office. As a business trial lawyer, she has represented clients in federal and state court cases involving fraud, breach of contract and business tort claims. Thorne concentrates on construction and insurance-related litigation. Thorne received her bachelors and juris doctorate from the University of Texas at Austin.

Jonathan D. Pressment is a member of the firms in the Business Litigation Practice Group in New York. His experience includes the representation of numerous Fortune 500 companies in a variety of complex civil litigation matters. He has extensive experience in all aspects of case commencement, discovery, motion practice and trial practice in commercial litigation matters. In addition, Pressment has experience as lead trial and appellate counsel for clients in matters pending before both Federal and state courts. Pressment currently serves as a Director on the Board of Directors for the New York County Lawyers Association, one of the nations oldest and largest county bar associations. He received his bachelors from Brown University and juris doctorate from Tulane University Law School.
