Hollywood, FL (PRWEB) December 31, 2013
FirstService Residential, formerly known in Florida as The Continental Group, joined forces with local charities to put smiles on childrens faces for the holidays by participating in philanthropic activities throughout South Florida.
Each holiday charitable effort is part of FirstService Residential Cares, FirstService Residentials year-round corporate philanthropic outreach initiative whose mission is to enhance the lives of the neighbors, residents, and communities FirstService Residential serves across Florida.
The community association management company collected unwrapped toys for Toys for Tots from the residents of the properties it manages and its associates. In all, over 400 toys for children of various ages were garnered.
Were happy to contribute to Toys for Tots during the holidays said Jennifer Lasseter, Project Manager for FirstService Residential. Its nice for FirstService Residential associates to partner with our residents to continually give back to the community at large.
FirstService associates also contributed money toward the I Have a Dream Foundation during their annual holiday office party. The over $ 1,500 raised was used to purchase 100 Barnes & Noble gift cards worth $ 15 each. These were presented to 6th grade dreamers from the City of Miami Gardens-area schools on December 17, 2013.
We are really proud of the way the associates of FirstService Residential banded together this year for the I Have a Dream Foundation and to further the education of local schoolchildren, said Rob Rabin, Executive Vice President of Operations for FirstService Residential. Our associates are always striving to help their communities, and the holidays are a time when they really shine!
