Unlike the franchised companies, Preferred Realty is owned and operated by member agents. They started with a concept that was entirely new to the real estate world – a privately held company that shared goals and ideas openly and freely.
The concept began with a group of like-minded realtors having a common goal of bettering services for buyers and sellers alike, said Jim Phelan, Broker-In-Charge of Preferred Realty, who has been with the company since 1999. The business concept has proven successful by an individual’s success becoming the groups success. Since the opening, the owners may have changed, but the ideals, concepts, and even the location on which the company was founded, have not.
Mr. Phelan went on to credit the member agents knowledge, experience, and superior ability as reasons the company has remained strong, both over the course of its 25-year history and in the face of the economic downturn of recent years. Mr. Phelan also expressed his confidence in the agencys future.
