High Associates Office Building on Harrisburg Pa.’s West Shore Places Fifth in National EPA ENERGY STAR

High Associates Ltd. announced that its Building 105 office building in Rossmoyne Business Center placed fifth overall in the EPAs 2013 Battle of the Buildings. The fourth annual national competition recognized buildings that improved energy efficiency, lowered utility costs, and protected health and the environment throughout the calendar year. More than 3,000 buildings participated.

Building 105s performance was also the second-highest in the category of Office Buildings. Steps taken to improve its efficiency reduced energy use by 39.2 percent, preventing 296 metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions with savings of $ 136,967. Located at 5020 Richard Lane in Mechanicsburg, Pa., the building qualifies for ENERGY STAR certification.

High Associates manages Building 105 as well as other buildings in Rossmoyne Business Center, on Harrisburgs West Shore, for lease to commercial tenants. The properties are owned by High Properties, a Pennsylvania limited partnership by High General Corporation, Sole general partner.

The submission deadline was July 31st! Edie Singer loves a challenge. She hired LA-based writer-producer-director JUDI JORDAN to create two spots. Together with SPAN films JORDAN created comedic shorts that explained Edies products with little-to-no dialogue. The spots; STUDIO SOLUTIONS, about four guys sharing a tiny studio apartment, and THE PILLOW THIEF, set in a casting session where anxious actors snatch the only comfy pillow while waiting for auditions, are both based on real experiences, and have gotten rave reviews.

A firm believer in American-made products and diversity hiring, Edie’s struggled to get the brand launched. Not the type to give up, she had various samples of her elegant, neat furniture manufactured and testedEdies donated seating to Ronald McDonald House, and students at dorms have used DUO BED and loved it.

Ever practical, Edie opened her DUO-BED showroom in Irvine to professionals in need of offices as DUO CAMPUS, a freelance open office space for independent business types who pay a monthly fee to work from the attractive, roomy space.
