Mistwood Golf Club Re-Opens with Improved Features and New Performance Center

Monday, July 15th, 2013

Romeoville, IL (PRWEB) July 01, 2013

All things are a go now at Mistwood Golf Club, the premier 18-hole golf facility in Romeoville, IL., which has undergone some exciting new changes over the past two years. With a multi-million dollar renovation of the course and the construction of a state-of-the-art Performance Center, Mistwood can now take its place as one of the elite public golf facilities in Chicago.

The long-time home of the prestigious Illinois Womens Open golf tournament, Mistwood closed early the last two years enabling Michigan based golf course architect Ray Hearn, the course’s original designer, to complete his renovation work and make strategic improvements to the course.

The major improvements involved performing renovation work on each of Mistwoods 18-holes in terms of shot value and strategy. The most noticeable was at the par-5 third hole where the green has been relocated to create space for a future clubhouse, and a double fairway added creating an exciting risk-reward opportunity. The creek that used to be in front of the green is now behind itand it has been expanded into a pond that guards the entire right side of the hole and three sides of the green.

In addition, beautiful Lannon stone walls were added along holes No. 3, 7, 8, 9 14, 15, and 16 providing stunning visuals for golfers to experience. Other improvements included repositioning tee boxes and bunkers, adding new high quality bunker sand, lengthening the course to 7,040 yards, and adding fescue grasses throughout the course.

Mistwoods renovation also included the addition of 20 stacked sod-wall bunkers. These unique and impressive bunkers are not seen in traditional American golf, but they are a trademark hazard for courses in Scotland and Ireland–and now Mistwood.

I couldnt be happier with how everything has come together on this project and believe we now have one of the top and most unique golf experiences in the Chicago area, said owner Jim McWethy. The work that Ray did incorporating the sod bunkers and the improvements he made to each hole are spectacular.

Not only is the course ready for a big season, but the long-awaited 5,000 square-foot Mistwood Performance Center will likely become the talk of the Chicago golf scene in the near future.

This is not your typical Performance Center, as the Irish themed stone architecture and warm dark wood interior features a full-service bar along with eight flat-screen televisions, making it a great place to hang out and practice. Golfers will also be able to stop there between nines or after their round, since the facility is also serving as a halfway house.

The Mistwood Performance Center includes a wonderful combination of 11 climate controlled stations, two indoor heated bays for year round practice, and 32 outdoor stations, along with a custom club-fitting room, putting room, and a repair and club-building center.

Add in high-tech teaching aids like TrackMan ball flight analysis, SAM Putt Lab and Quintic ball motion putting analysis, and a re-designed driving range makes the Mistwood Performance Center one of the leading game improvement facilities in the country.

A lot of thought has gone into this project, and the architect (Elmhurst-based Daniel Wohlfeil Design) hit a home run. We now have a year-around facility and can host any type of event we want, said Phillips.

Mistwood is no stranger to hosting big golf tournaments, major corporate events and large golf outings. It is already home to the Illinois Womens Open (July 31-Aug 2), and the American Junior Golf Associations Midwest Players Championship just concluded this week. The AJGA signed on to host the event at Mistwood through 2016.

What Mistwood owner Jim McWethy has done with the entire facility since taking over ownership in 2004 is extraordinary, especially given the tough economic times that saw most courses cutting back rather than expanding.

“A big part of this renovation was due to my love of the game, McWethy admitted. By expanding, we did run counter to the rest of the golf world, but I feel it was worth it in order to position Mistwood among the very best golf experiences in the country. If you have an exceptional product, market it well, and take great care of your customers, — even in this market — you can be successful and we are doing that at Mistwood.

Criterium-Tauscher Cronacher Professional Engineers and Lifestyle Equities Get Social at the Southampton Social Club

Tuesday, July 9th, 2013

New York, NY (PRWEB) July 01, 2013

Criterium-Tauscher Cronacher Professional Engineers and Lifestyle Equities team up for a real estate networking reception at the Southampton Social Club, July 25th from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. The social initiative is a commonality between the 56 year old engineering firm and the budding luxury real estate brand. Each works with A-List clients while managing the ever changing virtual landscape and the shifts in the luxury real estate market.

In the spring of 2013 Criteirum-Tauscher Cronacher launched Collaborate, Exchange, Expand, a social effort designed to connect real estate attorneys, real estate investors and civil engineers. It is currently estimated that over 50% of new business is from referrals. Since its inception in 1957 word-of-mouth referrals and repeat clients have been the largest source of revenue for the firm. The same could be said for Lifestyle Equities, a luxury brand with a membership based real estate project in development with close to 70% of business arriving viva voce. Collaboration becomes an invaluable resource to continue organic revenue growth.

C.O.O. of Criterium-Tauscher Cronacher Professional Engineers, Rick Koller, is well aware that although web 3.0 enables the legacy of the firm to continue expanding, nothing equates to exchanging ideas in person, especially in the Hamptons. “I look for any excuse to visit the Hamptons. My family has owned a home in Shelter Island for decades and we have not only sailed in and out of there every year for the last 35 years, we have also provided professional services on the East End since my family started this business in 1957. Higher end consumers have utilized our licensed Professional Engineering services over the years but when youve been in the game for 56 years the focus becomes re-educating new and old players–it is essential to be social.”

Jay Norris, founder of Lifestyle Equities recently completed the Rolling Stones Lounge in Hollywood and has developed luxury real estate projects for esteemed brands including Thompson Hotels & LVMH Group. Norris social track record precedes him and he is currently developing a members only branch of Voce Di, a luxury furniture showroom, fine art gallery that houses private interior and architecture design services. Norris looks forward to the future in real estate, In my opinion real estate has always been social from the beginning of time…I think people miss shared experiences with their contemporaries as well as strategic partnerships. The international private membership project Im developing with Voce Di brings together a suite of contractors, developers, stylists, interior decorators, limited edition art, furnishings and private event access. This is where human beings live, work and play.

The notable alliance launches the single event as they consider future common interests.
