He has created the perfect recipe for empowerment and overcoming circumstances… real life experience. Although growing up in an adverse family environment and well below the poverty line, this complex young man was still filled to the brim with ambition. It wasn’t an easy road for Jay having experienced both emotional and physical abuse from a step father who fell victim to a heroin addiction, and yet still even the worst of life’s experiences wasn’t enough to break his spirit. During his formative years, the streets had their way with young Jay and he soon found himself on the wrong side of the law. You name it, he did it! Dropping out of high school, trafficking drugs, and doing hard time provided the perfect lessons for his platform, which continues to reach thousands of youth with similar backgrounds and from like environments. His journey has provided hope to what could have otherwise been another sad statistic. These are the lessons of a man that can truly change a culture.
