Building Intelligence Presents SV3-Vehicle at ISC West New Product Showcase; the Evolution of Security

Sunday, April 13th, 2014

New York, NY (PRWEB) March 27, 2014

The New Product Showcase takes place at the ISC West convention in Las Vegas on April 1st, 2014. Building Intelligence will be showcasing its new product SV3. Expanding on access management, SV3 is the next generation in vehicle access management for both entry points and loading docks. As Vehicles, visitors, and vendors pose several critical risks that should not be ignored. SV3 provides the means to mange these risks.

The Building Intelligence team understands that the greatest risks never use the front door and that access points in the back of a facility are many times the most vulnerable. The magnitude of risk can be as little as an expired insurance certificate or as horrific as a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (VB-IED).

Building Intelligence is the leading provider of cloud based services and enterprise solutions designed to address these particular risks. SV3, by Building Intelligence, provides the tools to manage the three Vs (Vehicle, Visitor, Vendor) to reduce environmental risks associated with unknown vehicles and drivers.

One objective of the application is to maintain high standards of risk mitigation by qualifying vehicles, visitors, and vendors as they enter a secured area. Using our SecureVendor solution, facility manager can enroll vendors to expedite entry and pre-screen vendor staff and vehicles.

SV3 enhances processes and workflows that promote the screening and pre-registration of visitors, vehicles, drivers and vendor companies. This combination of services provide a significant deterrence to terrorism, theft, and abuse by vendors. Everyone is identified. Everyone is accountable.

Along with the operational efficiencies that SV3 generates, SV3 provides real-time reports on access, throughput and usage. The SV3 application helps facilitate the interactions between tenants, facility management, and security personnel.

Upon arrival of the vehicle, SV3 captures the vehicle and driver identity and validates that it is on schedule. SV3 will immediately recognize and associate vehicles and drivers who are enrolled. The system alternatively may be deployed in a discovery mode such that it associates new vehicles and drivers as they arrive for the first time, and identifies them accurately on future returns.

Secure Visitor allows authorized personnel to pre-register visitors and track their entry and exit. An email notification is sent to the visitor upon scheduling and to the requestor upon arrival of the visitor. Visitors may also be checked in against one or multiple watch lists, providing actionable intelligence to the guard or concierge on the spot when they arrive. Having an efficient, secure way of managing unknown people coming into the facility makes employees feel safe and visitors feel welcome.

Secure Vendor is a portal hosted by Building Intelligence to collect vendor information as per a clients requirements. The vendors profile includes information such as vehicles and drivers who will be making deliveries on location for instantaneous recognition by SV3-Vehicle upon their arrival. Certificates of insurance documents are managed electronically in the portal as well, including auto-generated notification of expiration or insufficient levels, resulting in 100% compliance to insurance requirements at all times. This feature replaces what has historically been a very labor intensive process on both the vendor and the facility manager.

At ISCWest all of these products will be showcased to feature the innovative solution that is SV3. According to Building Intelligence’s CEO Jeffrey C. Friedman, “this product has the potential to transform vendor and visitor management for every type of facility. Whether it’s a commercial building, a campus, or a mall, SV3 provides the ability to turn a cost center into a secure efficient profit center. This is a leap in the evolution of access management and security operations.”

A&P Celebrates Topping Out of Forest Park Medical Center Southlake Medical Office Building

Saturday, April 5th, 2014

Richardson, TX (PRWEB) March 20, 2014

On Wednesday morning, March 19, a Topping Out Ceremony was held at the site of the new Forest Park Medical Center Southlake Medical Office Building, signifying that the final height of the new building has been reached.

The project, developed by LandPlan Development and Neal Richards Group, is situated on a 2.645 acre site, adjoining the existing Forest Park Medical Center in Southlake.

The medical office building is a 4-story, 88,159 square foot building, including a grand entrance atrium, elevator core, and shell space for future clinic tenants. The new medical office building was designed by GSR Andrade to maximize the aesthetic balance of the campus by utilizing a stone veneer which matches the existing hospitals exterior finish (see attached rendering).

A two-story enclosed connector joins the new MOB with the existing Forest Park Medical Center Southlake hospital, completed by Adolfson & Peterson (A&P) in April 2013.

LandPlan Developments Director Reed Williams helped to provide the context for this event: Everything that we build here today is a lasting monument to healing that is going to touch and impact the lives of patients for generations to come. This isnt a 10 year or 20 year building; this is a 50 or 100 year building thats made to last.

With the construction of the Southlake MOB facility, A&P proudly continues its strong partnership with Forest Park Medical Center, LandPlan Development Corporation, and Neal Richards Group. Over the past six years, A&P has partnered with Forest Park Medical Center on multiple projects including Forest Park Medical Center Dallas, Forest Park Medical Center Southlake and Forest Park Medical Center Austin. In all, A&P has partnered with FPMC to build nearly one million square feet of hospitals and medical office space throughout Texas.

The FPMC Southlake MOB project is scheduled to be completed in August of 2014.

Wollison-Shipton Building Pittsfield, MA Announces Leasing Of Offices To Psychotherapist And Author, Anna OBrien With More Pittsfield Office Space Still Available

Wednesday, December 25th, 2013

Pittsfield, MA (PRWEB) November 19, 2013

Financial Firebird Corporation, in its capacity as manager of Pittsfield office leasing for the historic Wollison Shipton Building at 150 North Street, in the heart of the Berkshires of Western Massachusetts, announces that it has entered into a rental agreement with psychotherapist and author, Anna E. OBrien.

Deeply interested in the wisdom of the unconscious, Anna has worked with unconscious communication for many years in her psychotherapy practice. In her newly released book, Hawk Wisdom: Self-Defense in the Marketplace, she shows how an understanding of unconscious communication patterns can help everyone from the everyday consumer to the corporate executive. After reading Hawk Wisdom, you will understand how to quickly assess bits of conversation that you hear while discussing a purchase or other transaction and use this information to your advantage.

Hawk Wisdom is rooted in the concept of dynamic pattern reading. Dynamic pattern reading is the ability to assess information which is presented unconsciously. Information about items to be purchased or deals to be made can be gleaned from stories, jokes and chit chat which people share at the time of the transaction. This important information generally goes unnoticed. Ms. OBriens book helps people to understand how to listen for, attend to and interpret this information. It is a fascinating concept and a valuable skill.

For information on where to purchase Hawk Wisdom as well as how to sign up for individual and group conferences on unconscious communication go to the hawkwisdom.com site.

The Wollison-Shipton Building, which recently celebrated 125 years since it opened on April 12, 1888, provides office and retail space at very reasonable rents in the heart of downtown Pittsfield, Massachusetts. Those leasing offices especially appreciate the absence of additional charges found at other buildings. Most Wollison Shipton Building tenants pay no extra fees for heat, air conditioning, electricity, gas, common area maintenance or insurance, real estate taxes or even high speed internet service. In addition to those services tenants receive use of a common conference room all included in the rent.

Besides local businesses who may wish to lease office space in Pittsfield, MA companies from out of town should think about Pittsfield in a few different instances. When looking for a place to house back office operations, tenants from New York City or downtown Boston may find the rents in Pittsfield 5 times less to 10 times less than those rents in those large cities. Employee costs in Pittsfield end up substantially lower than in a large city as an extra benefit. Those looking for a virtual office may find Pittsfield offers features to meet those needs too. Business needing an occasional meeting place such as a law firm needing to meet with clients or take a deposition every now and than can make arrangements for space on a per use basis as well. For larger gatherings or presentations the Wollison-Shipton Building offers Pittsfield meeting facilities for close to 100 people either with or without food service from Pancho’s Mexican Restaurant located right next to the event room.

With low rent, bonus services, long term ownership, onsite management and nicely renovated space the historic Wollison Shipton building stands out as a top choice for Pittsfield office space.

High Line Co-Founders Awarded the Vincent Scully Prize from The National Building Museum

Tuesday, October 8th, 2013

New York, NY (PRWEB) October 01, 2013

Friends of the High Line today announced that co-founders, Robert Hammond and Joshua David, were awarded the 15th Vincent Scully Prize from the National Building Museum in Washington D.C. Former recipients include some of the most prestigious architects and designers in modern history, such as Paul Goldberger (2012), Robert Stern (2008), Jane Jacobs (2000), and His Royal Highness Prince Charles, Prince of Wales (2005). The widely admired Prize recognizes Hammond and Davids work in creating one of the most successful urban revitalization projects to date.

As a destination for New Yorkers and visitors alike, the High Line has grown beyond a typical public park, and has taken on the identity of a world stage, providing a venue for art showcases, educational programs, and cultural presentations. Last year, more than 4.4 million people visited the elevated park, which hosted 450 free public events and activities, curated 31 art installations, and expanded food concession and merchandise programs. Since its first section opened in 2009, the High Line has served as a catalyst for the re-development of Manhattans West Side and has prompted more than $ 2 billion in investment in the neighborhood.

During the public award ceremony, David and Hammond presented an original talk, which included opening remarks by Paul Goldberger, Pulitzer Prize-winning architecture critic and a past recipient of the Vincent Scully Prize. Their talk, Harnessing Friction, focused on how Friends of the High Line tapped the seemingly incompatible forces of money, real estate and politics versus community, preservation and design to create a new kind of public place for the 21st Century.

Joshua David said, You might think that the lesson to take away is one of compromise how competing forces can give way to each other, helping a project advance. But more often, the pressures of competing forces did not give way, but continued to resist each other as they met, creating a friction and energy. This unique energy is what fueled the High Line and created the place as we know it today.

This is not just a story about two guys and a dream, said Robert Hammond. Its a story about the thousands who shared that dream and helped us realize it. As much as we tried to choreograph it, the success of the High Line was ultimately a show of something greater than the creative or managerial powers of any one or two people or any single organization. If it had been more thoroughly controlled by any one of the players involved a real estate developer, a traditional historic preservation group, and a single government agency the High Line would not be the place it is today.

The National Building Museum established the Vincent Scully Prize in 1999 to recognize exemplary practice, scholarship, or criticism in architecture, historic preservation and urban design. It is named after Professor Vincent Scully, the Sterling Professor Emeritus of the History of Art at Yale University and Distinguished Visiting Professor at the University of Miami to honor his work and extend his legacy.

We cannot help but be especially pleased that this years prize is awarded to Joshua David and Robert Hammond, said Scully. Neither architects nor planners, these two citizens of New York saw something in their city to which others, including specialists, were blind. They somehow perceived the aesthetic intensity and urban power of the great dark ruin that lumbered through their neighborhood and, uniting with other citizens, they saved it and delivered it at last into the hands of the architects and designers who brought it to its present state of pure delight.

This year, the Vincent Scully jury, led by chair David Schwarz, along with Deborah Berke, Gary Haney, Ned Cramer and Elizabeth Plater-Zyberk, selected David and Hammond in recognition of how the High Line has inspired new thinking about the potential to repurpose unused industrial infrastructure into active public space.

Robert Hammond and Joshua David were selected to receive the fifteenth Vincent Scully Prize for their vision in transforming outdated infrastructure into the vibrant elevated park known as the High Line, said Scott Kratz, vice president for education at the National Building Museum. The Scully Prize jury recognizes how their work inspires new thinking about the value of civic space as municipalities across the United States re-purpose bridges, train trestles, and even freeways into much needed community gathering places.

The honor comes just as Hammond plans to end his tenure with the organization he helped to found 14 years ago. Hammond was awarded a Rome Prize by the American Academy in Rome in 2009. In 2010 David and Hammond were both awarded the Jane Jacobs Medal for their work on the High Line.

As the High Line prepares for Hammonds departure, Joshua David, also a co-founder of FHL, will stay on and assume the new title of President, where he will continue to focus on fundraising and Board development.

About the High Line and Friends of the High Line

The High Line is an elevated freight rail line transformed into a public park on Manhattans West Side. It is owned by the City of New York, and maintained and operated by Friends of the High Line. Founded in 1999 by community residents, Friends of the High Line fought for the High Lines preservation and transformation at a time when the historic structure was under the threat of demolition. It is now the non-profit conservancy working with the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation to make sure the High Line is maintained as an extraordinary public space for all visitors to enjoy. In addition to overseeing maintenance, operations, and public programming for the park, Friends of the High Line works to raise the essential private funds to support more than 90 percent of the parks annual operating budget, and to advocate for the transformation of the High Line at the rail yards, the third and final section of the historic structure, which runs between West 30th and West 34th Streets.
